WHAT WE DO
We create rugby experiences for children aged 5 to 13.
We teach and help instill values through the game. We help coaches coach.
The holiday camps, for 5 to 13 year olds, and one on one sessions are available to girls and boys of all abilities and each experience is designed by coaches who understand the development level of your child. At Onside, we place great value on the use of mini-games to learn skills and the use those games to embed the values of world rugby into a session.

CORE VALUES
We promote and integrate the following core values in all our activities.
PPASSION
Onside Rugby comprises a group of highly experienced rugby coaches; some lifelong teachers who've always coached the game, some ex-professional coaches, some aspiring ex-players who want to coach and, what we value highly, younger aspiring coaches who are in the educational/PE teaching fields and are willing to learn and pass on their knowledge and enthusiasm to your children.
David has 22 years experience coaching and teaching in independent boys schools and rugby development, a period of which was spent coaching professionally in Kenya. He also has qualifications in Long Term Athlete Development and Talent Identification and brings understanding of the development continuum needed to ensure your aspiring children can realise their potential. He has a heart for Africa and set up a rugby charity called Nafasi Rugby which operates in Kenya and Uganda.

TESTIMONIALS
“Dave has helped my son grow as a rugby player and an individual. His rugby skills improved on the field, and off the field developed some amazing traits which has helped him develop into a fine young man. The camps that were run by Dave and his team allowed my son to make life long friends and learn lessons about both rugby and life which he still cherishes to this day. I could not recommend Dave higher as a coach to young players to help them develop bright futures.”
- Rennee, Carlton
“My son first went to Dave and his teams rugby camps in 2011. Since then, through Dave’s guidance, my son has improved in his technical skills and more importantly in his self-confidence. I could not recommend Onside Rugby highly enough for learning of the game and the instilling of values for life. My son is now 19 and he still talks about those camps when he was 7!”
-Jeannine, Rozelle
“Dave is a skilled leader and champion of community rugby. In his capacity as a coach, coaching director and educator I have seen him help children, adults and clubs be their best through rugby. He combines over twenty years’ experience as an educator with deep technical knowledge of the game. He takes the chance out of skill and team culture development and builds both from the ground up. Everyone from beginners and representative players leave each session with a clear sense of what they need to do to improve and contribute to their team. Dave takes the time to understand each player and has high expectations for their improvement. He has given many young players I know the opportunity to grow and thrive on and off the field.”
